Get To Know Whitney And Why She Said Yes To Being A Model

How did you get roped into doing this, and what was your first thought when asked?

I actually volunteered for it before knowing what it was all about, because that’s what I do…I say yes! My first thought was…this will be fun!

Why did you say yes?

The YMCA is so important to our community. I grew up in a small town where we didn’t have a Y, so now that I live where there are several, I want to do what I can to give back and make other people aware of its importance.

What is your official job title?

Corporate & Community Relations Coordinator with The Idaho Foodbank

How would you describe your job to your mother?

I work with local companies to engage them in our events and volunteer opportunities.

All families are unique, tell us about yours.

I am the youngest of 3 girls and my sisters are 8 & 11 years older than me. I got the best of both worlds – I grew up like an only child because my sisters went to college, but I still have siblings to annoy 

Tell us about your personal passions, talents, and/or hobbies.

I am very passionate about the American Cancer Society and the Relay For Life. I love to play the piano and make handmade cards.

What is something that you swore you would never do as a parent before you had kids that you do now?

I don’t have kids

Who inspired you when you were growing up, and why?

My high school choir teacher, Mrs. T. because she went through so much in her life and was still so chipper and happy, but also pushed me to be the best version of myself.

If you could go back and talk to your 12-year-old self, what would you say?

As long as you have your people, you can make it through anything and so can they…together!
